- Perform building performance analysis and produce graphical representations of results for communication with our multi-disciplinary teams across multiple markets and office locations.
- Develop visually appealing graphical representation of building energy consumption, thermal envelope performance, daylighting, glare, thermal comfort, renewable energy analysis, climate analysis, massing, orientation and other performance metrics for project pursuits and active design work.
- Develop detailed energy and daylighting analyses to complement early design simulations and feedback.
- Manage the documentation for LEED energy credits, energy code compliance reports and other performance rating systems.
- Research performance modeling methodologies, workflows, and software to improve how the firm delivers high-performance design solutions.
- Develop research, case studies and white papers to present findings and recommendations.
- Assist in the production of narratives, approaches, and fees for project proposals.
- May perform related duties as required.
- Associate degree in Architectural, Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related degree. Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of building performance analysis experience required.
- Must be able to assist with data analysis, energy modeling, and visualization tools, and be familiar with A/E/C industry trends related to high performance buildings. Experience with net-zero energy buildings and advanced metering technologies is preferred. Experience with a broad range of building typologies, including but not limited to healthcare, laboratory, office and educational facilities is preferred.
- Experience with EnergyPlus/Openstudio, required. Other experience in other building energy modeling software such as IES-VE, eQuest, a plus.
- Must have familiarity with ASHRAE Standard 90.1, ASHRAE Standard 62.1, LEED Reference Guides, California Title 24, IECC, and other energy related codes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills are essential.
- Familiarity in computational design and programming languages such as Grasshopper, Python, or C# strongly desired.
- Experience in Climate Studio and Ladybug tools strongly desired.
- Familiarity in data visualization tools such as PowerBI and R strongly desired.
- One or more credentials such as LEED, CPHC\D, BEMP or similar strongly desired. PE or RA a plus.Proficiency with BIM applications a plus.
