Position Description:University of Iowa Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks an oncologist with special interest in neuro-oncology. Appointment rank is open and may be to either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. Appointment rank to Instructor of Pediatrics (non-tenure or clinical track) may also be considered. The individual selected will join the Division of Hematology/Oncology to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services as a pediatrician specializing in oncology.The Neuro-oncology team practices multidisciplinary management of patients with brain and spine tumors, retinoblastoma, and NF1 and NF2-related schwannomatosis. The scope of practice includes (but is not limited to) the enrollment of patients in multi-institutional clinical research protocols through our collaborations with the Children's Oncology Group (COG), Children's Brain Tumor Network (CBTN), National Experimental Therapeutics Consortium (NEXT), and other industry-sponsored trials. The division is involved in cutting-edge research that is funded by the NIH and nonfederal agencies.The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Required Qualifications:Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology or equivalentCompleted fellowship training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology with an additional fellowship in Pediatric Neuro-Oncology or experience working as a pediatric Neuro-Oncology physicianLicense or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa
