Job Description:As an Vice President on the External Reporting Controllers within Internal Controls & Data Analytics, you will assess high risk areas, perform data mining, and control reviews in order to assess the overall quality of the external reporting and control environment.Job responsibilities
  • Analyzing critical CIB and wholesale lending metrics and performing detailed risk and control assessments to identify areas requiring detailed testing
  • Partnering with groups outside of finance (i.e., Operations and Risk) to influence enhancements to strengthen the financial reporting control environment as well to improve operational efficiency
  • Reviewing critical reporting logic for various schedules/line items to ensure appropriateness (fit for purpose)
  • Preparing analysis and slides for quarterly presentations to support CIB senior management's CCAR and SOX attestations
  • Staying current with evolving industry and regulatory changes and analyzing impact to external reporting process and compliance
  • Coordinating substantive review activities with the Corporate Financial Reporting team
  • Leveraging tools such as Tableau and Alteryx to perform data analysis on wholesale lending portfolio
  • Meeting frequently with Audit and SOX teams to ensure proper coverage and eliminate duplication of efforts
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • CPA or equivalent professional degree (Bachelor's or Masters in Accounting/Finance/Business/Economics)
  • At least 6+ years of overall experience (post qualification) in Auditing, Accounting, Internal Control and/or External Reporting
  • Experience and advanced skills presenting to senior leaders
  • Advanced-level ability expected in all MS Office tools (Excel, Pivot Tables, Access, VBA, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with data profiling and data analysis toolset/visualization e.g., Alteryx, Xceptor, databases, SQL or similar query language, Abacus query, dashboard creation using Tableau
  • Effective at building relationships across functional teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to management in a concise and persuasive manner
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of Wholesale Lending business
  • Knowledge of Regulatory/SEC reporting, including but not limited to 10K, FR Y-14Q, Y-9C, CECL and related requirements a plus
