ResponsibilitiesThe Healthcare Management Trainee undergoes practical training in a physician office which serves as a training ground for him/her to learn all aspects of practice management in a systematic manner under the guidance of experienced managers. Under the direction of experienced personnel, the Healthcare Management Trainee gains knowledge and experience required for promotion to future management positions. As an entry level management person, the Healthcare Management Trainee will learn the operation of business from the ground level. Working side by side with managers, the Healthcare Management Trainee will receive hands on experience as well as an awareness of culture of the company and its business philosophy. Successful completion of the Healthcare Management Trainee program is required to be considered for career opportunities such as Practice or Operations Manager, Practice Director or Program Coordinator. While this job description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the requirements of the position, management reserves the right to add or remove duties as the need arises.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:Practice Operations:
  • Collaborate with the practice administrator to learn the day-to-day operations of the physician practice
  • Ability to fill in for roles coordinating patient scheduling, registration, and check-in processes
  • Ability to fill in roles for surgical scheduling
  • Participate in optimizing workflow efficiency and patient throughput
Financial Management:
  • Work with the practice administrator to understand financial reporting and budgeting for the practice
  • Learn about insurance billing and reimbursement processes and ability to resolved billing issues
  • Develop a basic understanding of coding and billing practices
Human Resources:
  • Assist in recruiting and onboarding of key practice positions (front desk, MA, call center, surgical scheduler, etc)
  • Learn and develop staff training
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Employee will be required to be flexible with their location as they may be working with, training or covering in many different areas of the hospital or hub sites.
  • Employee must be stationed in designated location as discussed with appropriate manager in who they are working with.
  • Any alterations to their schedule as needed must be discussed and approved by appropriate manager
  • Employee must be eager to learn all areas of outpatient practice including but not limited to PSR responsibilities, MA responsibilities, Practice Manager responsibilities, reporting, RightFax, EPIC, Scanning, Prior Authorizations, etc
  • Ideal candidate will be over communicative, organized, responsible, open to embracing new information, eager to take information and educate/empower other staff members, not afraid to ask questions, take on and complete projects.
