Responsibilities
- Manages the airfield environment to support base, tenant and transient flying operations according to Air Force,
- Conducts airfield inspections and checks.
- Ensures all required airfield signs, markings, lighting and aircraft arresting systems are available and properly installed according to the appropriate airfield planning and design criteria.
- Identifies and report improperly installed airfield signs, markings, lighting and aircraft arresting systems to Civil Engineering (CE) for correction.
- Use procedures outlining AM actions in the event of reduced aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) capability. Utilize procedures for Bird/Wildlife Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH) and Bird Watch Condition (BWC), Runway Surface Condition (RSC),
- Ensures all conditions that meet NOTAM criteria are processed according to AFI 11-208, Department of Defense
- Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) System.
- Reviews airfield construction and repair project priorities for impact to airfield operations.
- Ensures construction areas are marked and lighted in accordance with ETL 04-2, Standard Airfield Pavement Marking Schemes and UFC 2-360-01 Airfield and heliport Planning and design.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
- Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.
- Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and three (3) years' additional education and/or experience.
- Experience
- Must have at least three (3) years' in Airfield Management to inspect the airfield environment for safety and compliance with established Air Force, Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) , International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) or North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) airfield planning and design criteria/standards.
