Management Accountant

The Management Accountant will play a crucial role in providing financial insights, analysis and strategic support to the company. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive informed decision-making and contribute to the financial success of the company.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports and assist in preparing budgets and forecasts
- Prepare accurately and timely financial reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis for management and stakeholders
- Input into management accounts preparation and relevant information contained therein
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide insights to support strategic decision making
- Identify trends, variances and areas for improvement in financial performance
- Develop and maintain financial models and scenarios to support long term planning
- Track actual vs budget variances and report on same
- Analyze costs and cost drivers to identify opportunities for cost reductions.
- Identify and implement process improvements in financial reporting and analysis
- Inventory analysis and valuation
Focus Area 1: Management & Financial Reporting
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and related schedules
- Variance analysis of costs and margin drivers
- Development of forecasting models and maintenance thereof
- Identify trends in inventory, costs and costing models
KPI's:
- Accurate and timely preparation of management accounts and related schedules
- Development and maintenance of forecasting models
Focus Area 2: Analysis of Variances
- Variances – Actual to Budget
- Margin Analysis
- Stock Aging, costing and valuation assessment
- Collaboration with other departments to resolve variances identified
KPI's:
- Analysis of variance on a monthly basis and investigation into underlying factors causing them
Focus Area 3: Key Performance Improvements
- Input into cost reduction suggestions, based on variances identified
- Implementation of cost reduction proposals
- Analysis of key performance indicators and suggestions as to how to improve these indicators
KPI's:
- Identify and implement cost reduction exercises or procedures to improve KPIsRequirements of the Role
1. Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance (CA or CIMA preferred).
2. 2-4 years’ relevant experience.
3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics
4. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
5. Strong or advanced proficiency in Excel and model building
6. Attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Ability to work well with a team and individually.Preferred Skills/Competencies
