  • Participate as a team member in the identification of students with disabilities.
  • High degree of human relations and communication skills. Ability to relate well to students, staff and parents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Attend General Education Intervention meetings at each elementary school.
  • Administer screening instruments which are recommended by GEl teams and report results to the team.
  • Administer appropriate achievement tests as a member of the multi-disciplinary team that conducts psycho-educational test batteries.
  • Administer other test batteries as appropriate.
  • Score, interpret and report results.
  • Make appropriate recommendations to assist students, based on test results.
  • Attend case conferences and assist in writing the Individual Education Plan.
  • Assist in gathering data and writing reports for triennial re-evaluations.
  • Be an example of exemplary adult behavior for students.
  • Project a genuine care and concern for all students.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
