What you'll doVodafone Business is the enterprise arm of Vodafone Group, with over €10B in revenue we serve customers all around the world, from small and medium business (SMEs), to large multinationals (MNCs) with a wide variety of products and services. We are part of Vodafone Business Product Engineering and we are looking for a Platform Engineering Manager within our Mobile Private Networks, Cloud and Edge Computing portfolios.Vodafone Business Mobile Private Networks, Cloud and Edge Computing is set to become the new engine growth for Vodafone Business in the following years. Our mission is to build the platforms and products that, making use of 5G, Edge Computing and IoT, will enable our customers to run mission-critical applications. Mission-critical applications that will save lives and change the way other industries work forever.You will lead a team of engineers and managers as we grow, to build the platform that will provide paved roads to our product software engineers to build, test, monitor and alert their applications and products on an environment security compliant with Vodafone guidelines. You will lead the team that build the platform to power our products and services.Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of software engineers to design and build our internal platforms.
  • Adopt Agile ways of working and implement DevSecOps practices within the team.
  • Gather requirements, with the larger team, to define high-level architecture, collaborate with developers across the team on design. Review and approve design.
  • Planning budget, resources, and tools to deliver against our roadmap.
  • Drive all aspects of the development, including requirements definition, design, implementation, unit testing, and integration. Oversee detailed designs, implementation, and test plan reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to provide status, iterative releases, and make design decisions throughout the development.
Who you areMinimum qualifications:
  • Relevant work experience in platform software development (e.g., AWS web services, CI/CD tools, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Observability, Kafka).
  • Hands-on technical leadership and people management experience.
  • Experience in creating and running an engineering for real-time, highly scalable platforms.
  • Experience in delivery and tuning of complex technologies and complex real time, highly transactional, retail, distributed architecture stacks.
