With over 375 million tracks from 40 million artists, the future of music is SoundCloud.As a New York-based Staff Accountant, you will be part of the Finance team spread between our offices in Berlin, New York, and Los Angeles. Your role will focus on working closely with other stakeholders across our multiple lines of business and the global teams, with your skills contributing to finance-related processes and projects within the SoundCloud Group. As a key player in the expanding New York accounting team, you will become a central figure in the finance function for the US-based companies whilst working closely with the larger team in Berlin, Germany. Following the onboarding phase you will be trained to take on ownership of processes and tasks. You will be given the opportunity to shape our processes and tasks, future-proofing and driving them to new levels of excellence.Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing monthly & annual processes for our US entities:
  • Managing Accounts Payables, including expense and credit card statements
  • Managing Accounts Receivable
  • Managing Cash and Marketing advance payments and recoupments
  • Managing General Ledger bookkeeping and reconciliations
  • Partnering with our FP&A department
  • Assisting the Finance team with recurring tasks, process improvements and special projects
  • Collaboration with other teams on accounting matters/projects, acting as a proactive business partner
Experience and Background:
  • 1+ year of experience in Accounting, Tax and/or Auditing
  • Strong skills in MS Excel and good knowledge in the use of ERP systems (Oracle Fusion would be a plus)
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Being highly comfortable working in a fast-paced and ambitious work environment in which colleagues are measured by outputs and not formalities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
The salary range for this role is $68,000-73,000 annually. The final salary offered will be determined based on relative experience, skills, internal equity, and location.
