- Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to hospitalized patients across various medical specialties.
- Conduct thorough assessments, diagnose medical conditions, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, specialists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Monitor patients' progress, reassess treatment plans as needed, and make timely adjustments to optimize outcomes.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide timely interventions to stabilize patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis in a compassionate and understandable manner.
- Document all patient encounters, assessments, and treatment plans accurately and comprehensively in electronic medical records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Stay abreast of latest developments in medical research, guidelines, and best practices relevant to hospital medicine.
- Contribute to teaching and mentoring activities for medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Mississippi.
- Demonstrated clinical competence and proficiency in managing complex medical conditions in an inpatient setting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to patient-centered care, professionalism, and continuous quality improvement.
