MOD BIKES is seeking part-time mechanics to join our team and help address our customers' technical needs. You will provide accurate technical service, digitally and in person, before and after the point of sale, ensuring customer satisfaction. You will explain technical details to a non-technical audience.The ideal candidate will have a passion for bikes, excellent customer service skills, experience in bike mechanics and electrification, tech-savvy with handyman-type skills, a flexible schedule, reliability, and organizational skills.This is a non-exempt position, which will report to the MOD BIKE Service Manager. Because MOD BIKES has a small staff, many duties/assignments/tasks overlap; collaboration and coordination are required for the operation's success.Duties
  • Perform tuneups and repairs on customer-owned MOD BIKES
  • Assemble and ?make ready? new MOD BIKES
  • Educate customers about the operation of our products and provided services
  • Maintain bikes needing service according to ticket requirements
  • Update and manage tickets on our Point of Sale (POS)
  • Maintain demo and rental fleet
  • Offload inventory
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Maintain workshop organization and cleanliness
  • Report on and repair manufacturing discrepancies as assigned.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and complete work orders, tests, and inspections
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Two years minimum experience as a bicycle mechanic, technician, or equivalent
  • 1-year experience in customer service and/or relations
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely
  • Ability to self-manage a daily schedule and complete all tasks as assigned
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Attention to detail, common sense & a good attitude
  • Ability and desire to learn the industry and understand the technical level of the products we offer
  • Ability to follow established procedures, workflow, and practices
  • Basic computer skills needed to read and provide instructions and information
  • Hardworking, responsible, and highly organized
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
Nice To Haves
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components, motors, and eBikes
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms)
