China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited (“the Company” or “China State Hong Kong”) started its construction business in Hong Kong in 1979. The Company engages in building construction and civil engineering works. China State Hong Kong is among the largest construction contractors in Hong Kong, and is approved by the Works Bureau, to be on the List of Approved Contractors (Group C) for Public Works in the five major categories of building and civil engineering works, namely, “Buildings”, “Port Works”, “Roads and Drainage”, “Site Formation” and “Waterworks”.Responsibilities:General(a) Be responsible to the Supervisor or his delegates for the supervision of the construction works and carry out duties of a Contractor Employed Building Services Inspector team as detailed in the Site Administration Handbook published by ArchSD which is available for inspection at Project Manager’s office with prior appointment during normal office hours.(b) Manage and monitor the site activities conforming to the Client's Requirements, ArchSD's General Specifications, the Site Administration Handbook and other documents as specified by the Project Manager or his delegates.Construction Stage(a)Supervise the on-site and off-site Builder's works.Monitor labour resources, progress, materials and equipment used on site.(b) Identify and immediately report for any errors in,or any discrepancies found,among the documents.(c) Maintain and update the filing systems as required by the Project Manager and his delegates.(e) Inspect and report the installed works on the workmanship, drawing approvals, installation requirements and maintain the site inspection records.(f) Check and update the daily labour strength in relation to Builder's works (including random compliance check of registered skilled workers & registered semi-skilled workers) and works activities on site, and report immediately any deficiency.(g) Check the requirements under the “Construction Site Safety Manual” and relevant statutory parties are complied with. (h) Monitor and report immediately any unavailable technical approvals, including drawings before the inspections of works to be covered up.(h) Monitor and report immediately any unavailable technical approvals, including drawings before the inspections of works to be covered up.(i) Maintain and update the following records and summary in the format as required by the Project Manager and his delegates:(i) Material and equipment checking. (ii) Works inspection for the daily and scheduled activities. (iii) Abortive works, and compensation events covered by Project Manager’s instructions. (iv) Test and system performance commissioning.(j) Provide Site Progress Reports for Site Progress Meetings and BS/EM Coordination Meetings.(k) Taking site photos on site progress of works installation and noticeable defective works and non-compliance of works.(l) Witness and report the acceptance of all specified tests, and system performance commissioning of works and maintain the site test records.(m) Provide and update all the time the list of outstanding and defective works.(n) Monitor and report progress of Defect rectification and completion of outstanding / additional works, including testing and commissioning works.(o) Check the readiness of BS/EM works operation and maintenance manuals and as-fitted drawings submitted by the Contractor, the Specialist Subcontractors and other Subcontractors.(p) Arrange and attend the pre-handover and hand-over inspections with relevant parties, including inspections by FSD, Statutory parties, utilities services, users, clients’ departments, maintenance agents, etc. as directed by Project Manager.(q) Carry out any inspection works, prepare any site records and reports and witness any testing and commissioning works as required by the Supervisor and his delegates.(r) Return all of the above site records and files as required by the Project Manager and his delegates.(s) Attend the Site Audit Checking and follow up action on correction action and non- conformity.(t) Assist in the site checking of any site measurement of Builder's works and payments claimed by the Contractor.(u) Assist in the site survey of existing Builder's works during the construction stage, including submission of proposals for additional, alternation or repair worksRequirements:
  • Certificate in Building Studies Engineering Hong Kong Institute of Construction / Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong Technical College / Hong Kong Technical Institute / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent;
  • Five (5) years experience as a skilled worker in the field of Building Studies Engineering or successfully completed a recognized Technician Apprenticeship in Building Studies Engineering or successfully completed a recognised Craft Apprenticeship with;
  • Two (2) years experience as a skilled worker in Building Studies Engineering together with;
  • ae Secondary 3 standard
