Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.Job SummaryThe Accounting and Administrative Assistant is responsible for the accurate and timely entry of accounts payable items and contributions, and is additionally responsible for maintaining parish compliance with the archdiocesan Prevent and Protect program. The Accounting and Administrative Assistant reports to the Business Manager and works collaboratively with the Parish Accountant and other staff members.Job Responsibilities
  • Reviews all accounts payable for proper authorization and coding
  • Enters all accounts payable and organizational deposits into QuickBooks
  • Exports from Quickbooks to set up budget worksheets or other templates in Excel
  • Responds to vendor inquiries regarding payments
  • Maintains vendor and deposit files
  • Maintains subsidiary ledger and program tracking
  • Accurately maintains and updates the ServantKeeper database of parishioners
  • Records offertory and other deposit contributions in ServantKeeper
  • Pulls reports and prints letters from the ServantKeeper database
  • Verifies employee and volunteer compliance with Archdiocesan Prevent and Protect

  • Maintains Prevent and Protect records and completes annual audit
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
  • Working knowledge of approved parish software
  • Three or more years related experience in general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and cash receipts
  • Highly self-directed with an attention to detail and ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Working knowledge of the Internet, e-mail, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Willingness to support the mission and structure of the Catholic Church
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
