- Subject matter expert and oversight of EHS business processes and systems for continual improvement and proactive risk management
- Development, implementation, and maintenance of written EHS policies, programs, procedures, and audit and inspection systems, planning templates (project execution, emergency response, etc.), best practices, and training materials
- Support the execution and maintenance of the portfolio of all EHS standards documents and lead end-to-end process for periodic review and variance process
- Ensure alignment with global EHS initiatives and Lindt Performance Way (LPW) Safety Pillar methodology
- Ownership of EHS audit processes and member of audit team
- Provide oversight for risk measurements, training requirements, EHS audits, and utilizing data management platforms to track and analyze key metrics
- Collaborate cross-functionally to refine and align Russell Stover Chocolates' EHS systems and processes, facilitating the development of environmental, occupational safety, and health policies, programs, and training
- Foster strategic partnerships to implement EHS processes and workflows across all locations, driving safety ownership, incident prevention, and regulatory compliance
- Advise senior leadership on EHS matters, monitoring regulatory changes and evaluating their impact on company operations
- Assume leadership responsibilities and active involvement in key kaizen efforts, safety, and environment improvement activities at all levels of the organization
- Administer various safety programs (PPE, hearing testing, incident follow-up)
- Deliver Continual Improvement - Build capability, establish best practices, and use standardized work processes to improve safety performance
- Respond to and aid management and supervisors in investigating incidents and developing measures to prevent recurrences
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations
- Enhance the site capabilities in critical hazard program management, including but not limited to control of hazardous energy, work at heights, confined space, hazardous locations/ atmospheres, mobile equipment, hazard
- Respond to regulatory requests as needed
- Travel domestically approximately 40% per year with the possibility of limited international travel
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Health, and/or Environmental, Business Management, Engineering, or related discipline
- 7+ years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of work experience and education
- Strong organizational, planning, and management systems experience
- Experience creating and implementing safety management systems, standards, in adherence to OSHA and consensus standards, i.e. NFPA 70E
- Excellent writing and editorial skills, with efficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- IT user/administrator skills: MS Office with emphasis on Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word; Safety Management and Training (i.e. Sphera, HSI); and CMMS (i.e. SAP, CARL)
- ASP/CSP, CSHO, CIH, CFPS or CHMM certification
- Formal studies and/ or experience in field of program/ business process management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to confidently present complex information
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work within ambiguity
- Excellent tact and diplomacy in the ability to partner with all levels of employees, and have ability to influence processes in a matrix organization
- Team player and self-start with the ability to complete work assignments with little supervision
