The Zip Line Guide ensures the safe and efficient operation of the zip line while fostering positive guest relations. They oversee daily operations, focusing on tour coordination and guest services, with the support of the Zip Line Supervisor and Operations Manager/Director. The Zip Line/Aerial Adventure Park Operations office/locker room is situated in the Base Lodge Clinic Building.Job Relationships:
  • Reports to: Zip Line Supervisor/Lead and/or Zip Line Operations Manager/Director
  • Employees Supervised: None
  • Interrelationships: Collaborates with all mountain departments
Job Specifications:
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers and co-workers
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn trolley, harness, and ropes safety procedures, as well as evacuation procedures
  • Comfortable working at heights exceeding 100 feet
  • Ability to provide accurate information and maintain a positive attitude
Specific Duties:
  • Conduct general start-up procedures
  • Perform daily zip line inspections
  • Coordinate tour schedules with the Guest and Information Services Department
  • Maintain take-off and landing areas
  • Carry out and maintain landscaping projects in trail and take-off/landing areas
  • Inspect and maintain safety equipment on a regular schedule
  • Notify supervisor of safety concerns or maintenance needs
  • Prepare for and execute emergency procedures as required
  • Fit guests with appropriate harnesses and helmets
  • Educate guests on safety procedures
  • Inspect and check-in harnesses and helmets after each tour
  • Verify tour registrations/payments and coordinate adjustments with Guest and Information Services Dept.
  • Adhere to uniform, grooming, and nametag requirements
  • Perform job duties within the framework of WSI policies and procedures
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Lift up to 20 pounds above the head repetitively with twisting and bending
  • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Engage in repetitive upper body motion during loading and assisting guests
  • Navigate unstable ground, hills, and hiking paths
  • Stand for extended periods and engage in physical activity
  • Work under varying weather conditions
  • May work weekends, holidays, and overtime during peak demand times
  • Non-smoking environment
Safety & Wellness:
  • Stay vigilant for unsafe conditions and behaviors
  • Conduct periodic inspections and report issues promptly
