Job Description: CustodianWe are seeking a diligent and reliable individual to join our team as a School Custodian. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the school premises, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students, teachers, and staff.Responsibilities:Clean and sanitize classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas according to established schedules and procedures.Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as needed.Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly.Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, chairs, windowsills, aReplenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, paper towels, and hand sanitizer.Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and notify supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.Assist in minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and repairing minor damages.Follow safety protocols and guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and operating equipment.Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or security concerns to the appropriate authorities.Collaborate with other custodial staff members to complete larger cleaning projects or tasks efficiently.Provide assistance during special events or emergencies, including setup.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred.Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision. Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, and staff.Flexibility to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment for all occupants of the school.This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall maintenance of our school facilities.
