  • Performs preventative maintenance, including troubleshooting traffic signal cabinets and checking components of traffic signals for proper operation; performs routine maintenance, including repairing all components of traffic signals; performs construction maintenance, including repairing, replacing, and installing electrical wiring, traffic signal heads and cabinets, signal poles, electrical service boxes, conduit, ped push buttons, video detection systems, radio communication components, school flashers, speed radar signs, and flashing beacons.
  • Responds to emergency calls from various entities and assists as needed. Provides traffic control for community events.
  • Programs traffic components, including timing controllers, malfunctioning unit detection systems, communication systems, audible pedestrian devices, speed radar units, school flasher devices, and delivery message systems (DMS)
  • Inspects new and existing traffic signals, as well as contracted work and roadway lights.
  • Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
  • Performs related work as required.

Minimum QualificationsRequired Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in electrical trade, electrical construction, installation, testing, maintenance and repair of electrical or electronic equipment, installation, testing, maintenance and repair of communication equipment, or working with traffic signals.
