It is a multi-functioning team that works interdependently with the other departments in the organization. This rewarding profession offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of others.QUALIFICATIONSPeer Support Certified by the state of Kentucky, or eligible to become a Peer Support Specialist.Peer Support Specialist eligibility includes - 1 year or more of continuous sobriety, a substance abuse diagnosis, completed treatment for a substance abuse disorder.
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Self motivated
  • Availability to work some evening, overnight and/or weekend shifts
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and stay on schedule
  • Ability to enforce program requirements
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to complete and submit reports
PEER SUPPORT DUTIES
  • Conduct peer support group sessions for the clients of the center
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with company, state, federal and HIPPA rules and regulations
  • Charting for insurance purposes
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude toward clients, staff and volunteers
  • Handle crisis situations in a calm supportive manner
  • Complete drug screening
  • Comply with random employee drug screening
  • Supervise residents for extended time periods
  • Monitor residents activities, groups, chore lists, weekly phone calls, etc.
  • Transport clients to various appointments
RESIDENTIAL STAFF DUTIES
  • Acts as a liaison to all areas of persons served/client care; medical staff, admission staff, nursing staff and clinical staff.
  • Directly assists and supports medical, admission, nursing and clinical staff ensuring seamless transition for persons served/clients to and from detox.
  • Performs follow-ups to persons served/client referral sources as directed by supervisor.
  • Demonstrates punctuality, organization and proficiency in all areas of scheduling, filing, meetings, presentation and persons served/client relations.
  • Demonstrates initiative, personal responsibility, and ownership of work to meet monthly, quarterly and annual goals in both written and verbal formats.
  • Orientate the persons served/client on admission.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage.
