Working/Functional TitleHuman Resources ManagerPosition SummaryThe HR Manager in the Office of Health Sciences plays a pivotal role in overseeing the human resources functions and strategies to support MSU and Health Sciences mission, vision, and values. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing HR policies, procedures, leadership and other mentoring programs, and programs to attract, retain, and develop a diverse and talented workforce within the Health Sciences community.Unit Specific Education/Experience/SkillsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a human resources area or a related degree; 3 to 5 years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in accounting, management, budget preparation and data base system analysis and maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in human resources, leadership, or a related field
  • 7-10 years of progressively responsible HR experience, preferably in a healthcare or academic environment.
  • PHR or SPHR certification
  • Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations, particularly within the healthcare and education sectors. Includes leadership development and mentoring.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to effectively lead teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and initiatives, with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organizational goals into actionable strategies and initiatives.
