Logansport State Hospital is a state-operated inpatient psychiatric hospital for adults with mental illness. Using an interdisciplinary approach and evidence-based programming, we promote recovery and return of the individual to the community.Salary Info:Salary: This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $34,216. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.A Day in the Life:The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Diagnose and repair various maintenance issues.
- Maintain service and maintenance records.
- Purchase required parts, tools, and supplies according to State policy.
- Repair buildings and structures.
- Assist with snow removal.
- Working knowledge of various trades including masonry, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- Working knowledge of radio communications and procedures.
- Working knowledge of appropriate safety precautions needed for a variety of repairs.
- Ability to use a variety of automotive, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tools for routine maintenance and repair.
- Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of records.
- Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
- Ability to work independently and provide self-motivation.
- Ability to read and follow guidelines and blueprints to complete construction projects.
- Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation.
