Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) has an opportunity for a Speech Language Pathologist at Jacobi Medical Center/North Central Bronx Hospital. The Hospitals are part of the NYC Health + Hospitals System (NYCHHC). Jacobi is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and NCB has 213 licensed beds. Identifies patients of all ages with speech, language, swallowing, and related disorders, upon medical referral.
Assesses and treats communication and swallowing impairments.
Plans individualized treatment programs to restore or improve identified impairment .
Informs patients and/or parent/legal guardians of diagnostic results and provides counseling and patient education as needed
Discharge patient from treatment with home program and/or with follow-up plans when appropriate.
Write reports of diagnostic work-ups and treatment progress
Attend and participate in conferences.
Participate and attend continuing education and other training.
Attend and participate in departmental seminars
Participate in supervising undergraduate and graduate students.
performs other duties as assigned.
Seeks out direct supervision whenever needed .
Engages in research related to communication and swallowing
Qualifications
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
Current New York Stale Licensure in Spcech Language Pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA
One year of professional experience within the last three years in the practice of Speech-Language Pathology.
