- Structural Engineer is involved from the beginning to foresee preliminary design problems
- Focus is on problem solving. The Architect, Engineer, and Contractor are on the same team.
- Project designs based on construction schedule versus fully finished package
- Preliminary pricing advantages due to historical construction experience
- Value engineering is ongoing as the design is refined
- Input from jobsite can identify construction issues
- Projects can be designed to the builder’s strength
- Easier for engineer to issue changes or make revisions
- Opportunity for site and Quality visits to assist in solving field issues
- Relationship building with Field Staff (Superintendents and other on-site personnel)
- As an entry level structural engineer, you will be responsible for performing structural engineering design and analysis under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering with Structural emphasis
- Master’s with Structural emphasis preferred
- PE and/or SE license desirable but not required
- Team oriented attitude is a must
- Resilient and adaptable to design changes
- This position is based in Birmingham, AL
- Our clients and projects are nationwide – so some travel will be required
- No other builder can offer the collaborative design-build approach that Clayco is known for and expects
- 3-D CAD experience is a plus
