License & Experience:
- Licensed Special Education Teacher in the State of Minnesota.
- Knowledge and experience working with students with special education needs.
- Experience working with transition students and families.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and refine goals/objectives outlined in student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Ensure that goals/objectives are outcome-based and measurable.
- Implement student IEPs using appropriate teaching methods, materials, and adaptations to meet individual student needs.
- Employ non-aversive behavior management techniques and foster positive programming while ensuring consistency across team members.
- Design, revise, and oversee instructional programs aligned with student IEP goals/objectives, facilitating cooperative learning.
- Foster opportunities for students to interact with peers, fostering friendships and support networks.
- Demonstrate leadership skills in guiding a team of paraprofessionals.
- Employ a consistent method for assessing student growth, utilizing clear criteria congruent with student goals, and continually collecting and summarizing performance data.
- Participate in Transition Planning meetings and facilitate the transition to adult services for graduating students.
- Maintain confidentiality of information about students, staff and families.
- Experience working with diverse students and families - experience/training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods preferred.
