- Promote proactive EHS initiatives that engage employees, drive safe behavior and mitigate risk. Adapt human and organizational performance (HOP) concepts and fundamentals into practical tools that leverage those concepts to improve the effectiveness of EHS programs.
- Demonstrates and drives the execution of tactical and strategic initiatives at the site to eliminate hazards and reduce or eliminate risks and drive continuous improvement.
- Facilitates active steering teams and forms and facilitates ad hoc committees for the development of safety, health and environmental standards and policies
- Partner with Operations in establishing plans for the mitigation of risk, reduction of injuries & incidents, achievement of environmental and sustainability goals, to ensure regulatory compliance and to continuously improve the EHS management system.
- Drive implementation of site EHS management system to ensure consistency with Perrigo goals
- Demonstrated ability to effectively spearhead and motivate teams with ability to develop and manage budgets
- Works within established Perrigo guidelines and policy framework to design, propose and implement EHS strategies for the site, to meet EHS requirements supporting short and long-term business needs
- Monitors “system” performance, maintains site EHS metrics, scorecards and objectives, gathers and analyzes data, and participates in site operations meetings
- Provide new hire onboarding and other EHS specific training such as LOTO, confined space, and elevated heights during on and off-shift.
- Ability to respond to on and off-shift site needs related to emergencies, incidents, and training.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six (6) years of safety and regulatory compliance experience, preferably in food, drug or cosmetic industry.
- CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) and/or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certificates desired
- In-depth knowledge of EHS management systems, safety and environmental regulations, and local, state and federal related compliance requirements
- Experience working within SAP, Microsoft Office 365 tools and Benchmark (Gensuite) or another EMS systems desired
- Pharma or Consumer Products background is highly desired
