A joint venture company, at the forefront of the world’s decarbonisation journey, who are leading the way for Australia to play an even larger role in the global battery supply chain and contribute to the global transition to a clean energy future.The OpportunityAn opportunity for an experienced Lead PCS Engineer to join the project team based in Kwinana on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing Process Control Systems activities for the project.As a Lead PCS Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing, maintaining, and enhancing automated systems and process controls. Your efforts will directly contribute to delivering exceptional value through advanced automation and process control technologies.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop advanced control strategies, enhancing efficiency and productivity with cutting-edge control solutions.
  • Identify trends and improvement areas by analyzing process data.
  • Ensure all systems comply with industry regulations and safety standards, proactively mitigating risks.
  • Implement new technologies and methodologies to boost process controls and operational efficiency.
  • Work with Project, Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure seamless control system integration and operation.
  • Utilize model predictive control, machine learning, data analytics, and expert systems to optimize performance.
  • Design, test, and commission PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems.
  • Lead teams and projects from concept to completion.
  • Collaborate with clients, control specialists, and instrumentation engineers to enhance process plant functionality.
  • Provide support during commissioning and start-up phases.
  • Evaluate operating processes to identify and implement potential improvements.
About You
  • Tertiary degree in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+years’ experience in process control and / or automation design, configuration, and troubleshooting, with exposure to the Australian mining / mineral processing industry.
  • Proficiency with PLCs, SCADA, and DCS systems, from design through to commissioning. Exposure to Rockwell suite of products would be advantageous.
  • Experience in process control, ideally within a mineral processing plant or refinery.
  • Constantly seeking out new technologies and methodologies to improve processes.
