Raleigh, North CarolinaWe are looking for a Structural Engineer to complement our Transportation team in our Raleigh, NC office. The position will involve working directly with staff including engineers, technicians and administrative staff on pursuit, development, and execution of highway engineering projects. You will work with many different ms team members within the Transportation Business Unit.About the North Carolina Bridge Structures Group
The Transportation Business Unit provides transportation engineering services for all project types and scopes, from the largest interstate systems to local municipality roads. Some of the services provided include roadway and intersection design, corridor improvements, bridge replacement and rehabilitation, and environmental documentation. Our traffic, highway, structural, and environmental planning engineers work collaboratively to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and long-term transportation solutions.Our Raleigh Bridge Group is one of the fastest growing groups in our firm with opportunities for continued development and career advancement. Our current NC projects include:
- Numerous Bridge Replacement Projects for NCDOT statewide
- NCDOT Statewide NBIS Bridge & Culvert Inspections
- SCDOT District 6 NBIS Bridge & Culvert Inspections
- Planning and Design Limited Services Agreement with all NCDOT Divisions for review and design work
- NCDOT Feasibility Unit Limited Services Agreement with various task orders
- Complete designated task assignments and report progress to transportation managers.
- Final project plan and document preparation including quantities.
- Prepare civil engineering design calculations, reports, construction plans, and specifications to meet project requirements.
- Use engineering design and CAD software in the preparation of electronic plans.
- Assist with field work including bridge inspections, requiring some travel on as needed basis
- EIT certification preferred/PE a plus
- Alternative Delivery Project experience is a plus
- Familiarity with AASHTO and NCDOT policies and procedures
- MicroStation and Geopak experience required, OpenRoads Designer experience a plus
- Ability to follow direction and work in a team environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Structural design programs
