- Researching and drafting products on complex issues for use by senior leaders and decision makers. Products may be in the form of information papers, background papers, decision papers, or briefings.
- Preparing products to incorporate information relevant to the issue, comparing and contrasting alternative solutions, and taking into consideration the strategic implications of the alternative courses of action.
- Reviewing policy papers and then analyzing for any impact on the Air National Guard (ANG).
- Supporting the ANG Director’s Action Group (DAG) and providing the Director of Air National Guard (DANG) with effective representation.
- Coordinating and communicating with Headquarters Air Force (HAF), the National Guard Bureau, Air Force MAJCOMs, Joint Staffs and the States.
- Contributing to the development and revision of the ANG family of strategy documents.
- Providing recurring and surge support for processes such as: DANG, Deputy DANG, Associate DANG, Legislative Liaison information papers; USAF, ANG, NGB, and OSD Strategy, Planning and Programming Processes (SP3); DoD planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE); military manpower and force structure decision papers; and operational and contingency mission actions.
- Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
- While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.
- Employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.

- Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of professional experience working in the DOD environment // OR // Associate’s Degree and 7 years of professional experience working with the USAF or ANG.
- Current, active Secret security clearance.
- Ability to analyze complex issues and present them in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience working in the DoD environment.
- Knowledge of functions and missions of the Air National Guard under Title 10 and Title 32.
- Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.

- Bachelor's Degree.
- Knowledge of the Air Force strategic documents and Total Force Integration (TFI) initiatives.
- Experience working at or with the headquarters level of a military service.
- Experience briefing senior leaders.
- Graduate of Professional Military Education.
- Understanding of the Air National Guard Strategic Planning System (SPS).
- Familiarity with the phases of DoD's PPBE system and the responsibilities of the services in building a program and budget.
- Familiarity with the AF Task Management Tool (TMT).
