The Panama-Buena Vista Union School District announces openings for one (1) Program Specialist for the Educational Services Division - Alternative Education. The Program Specialist will provide leadership, staff development and training. In addition, the position will assist in planning, organizing, and directing programs for student academics, attendance, behavior and safety.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Advise and provide support to the school, district and program personnel responsible for staff development activities.
  • Assist in the implementation of academic standards and expectations for student performance.
  • Assist in the development of effective, appropriate programs and coordination of resources for students.
  • Assist in assuring a positive school climate by fostering an environment of cooperation, respect, and personal responsibility among students.
  • Assist in developing and conducting professional development in areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Position requires at least three-five years of teaching and/or coaching experience.
  • Master’s Degree from accredited college or university with major in education or related field.
  • Valid California Credential in area of expertise.
  • Must possess a private vehicle, valid California driver's license and carry current automobile insurance with at least minimum coverage for public liability and property damage.
  • Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
SALARY AND TERMS OF SERVICE
Annual Salary $107,428 - $129,930 nine (9) steps, 204 working days per year, eight (8) hours per day. Placement on the salary schedule is determined by the number of years of prior experience in the position classification within an accredited educational institution. $2,500/year stipend for a Doctorate Degree; Longevity of $1,500 after 15 years of qualified District service and $3,500 after 20 years of qualified District service. Additional days, evenings/weekends as needed to perform related job duties and responsibilities.
