- Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Maintain and monitor robust financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital to support business operations effectively.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors to facilitate the audit process.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and proactively implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and professional growth.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively and ensure workload distribution aligns with departmental objectives.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies that support business objectives and drive growth.
- Conduct financial analysis, performance evaluations, and risk assessments to identify opportunities for improvement and mitigate potential risks.
- Prepare financial projections, variance analyses, and ad-hoc reports to support decision-making processes.
- Serve as a key liaison between the accounting department and other departments, providing financial insights and recommendations to support cross-functional initiatives.
- Communicate financial performance, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership and board members, contributing to informed decision-making and strategic planning.
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- You have a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project accounting, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Experience in project accounting for professional services preferred.
- You have a strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Exceptionally strong Excel skills required.
- You have a proven track record of successfully leading accounting teams and driving process improvements.
- You have excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
- You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
- You are proficient in accounting software systems; experience with BST or similar platforms is a plus.
