General SummaryThe Division of Neuropsychiatry and Neuromodulation and its Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Clinical Service at the Massachusetts General Hospital is recruiting a full-time Mental Health Specialist to join our group and provide exceptional care to our patients. Our clinical service provides TMS treatments to patients suffering from major depressive disorder (MDD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).Reporting to the practice manager, the Mental Health Specialist will be an integral member of the clinical care team, working together with attendings, fellows, residents, researchers, and administrators to provide superior care to our patient population and the community we serve.Ample opportunities are provided for career mentoring, superb training in highly valued clinical TMS procedural skills, exposure to innovative clinical neuroscience research, and working with diverse clinical populations in a team-oriented high tech clinical environment.Principal Duties and Responsibilities· Administer primarily TMS, but also tDCS, treatments to patients· Use neuronavigation software and standardized brain mapping techniques to identify target brain regions· Assist psychiatrist in the dosing procedures (i.e., motor threshold).· Manage the clinic schedule and patient appointments.· Create and maintain electronic health records.· Administer, score, and interpret self-report measures to assess patient status and progress.· Attend weekly clinical rounds to discuss new and existing patients with clinical care team.· Adhere to safety and compliance guides while navigating and mitigating patient side effects.· Triage patient concerns and elevate urgent ones to the covering physician.· Work with clinical team to maintain equipment, order supplies, and contact vendors for repais.· Other general tasks and responsibilities, as needed.QualificationsSkills and Competencies· Experience with clinical populations, particularly neuropsychiatric populations, is prfererred.· Background in neuroscience, psychology, or mental health is preferred but not required.· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with patients.· Must be highly organized, attentive to detail, and able to work independently and in a team.· Should be self-motivated, flexible, and compassionate.Education· Bachelor's Degree Required.· Background in neuroscience, psychology, or mental health is preferred but not required.· Extensive training will be provided. Candidate must satisfy all internal certification requirements.
