Job Title: WelderJob Description: The Welder is responsible for the setup, tack, and welding of various components, sub-weldments, and miscellaneous parts required for the production of lift trucks. This includes uprights, carriages, cross members, crossheads, sub shafts, hose shive, brackets, and other parts. Additionally, the role involves adjusting fixturing, cleaning, and preparing parts as necessary, while adhering to specifications and safety protocols.Key Accountabilities:
  • Set up, tack, and weld major components, sub-weldments, and miscellaneous parts to support continuous production processes.
  • Position, fit, block, and clamp parts to ensure proper alignment;adjust fixturing as needed;perform grinding, cutting, and chipping tasks;and tack components together.
  • Exercise precision and care in welding to achieve a smooth, even bead, proper penetration, and coverage, while ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain high standards of quality throughout the welding process to ensure the production of superior products.
  • Promote a safe work environment by following safety protocols, operating equipment safely, and using personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
  • Care for tools, equipment, materials, and facilities, and maintain general housekeeping standards.
  • Uphold adherence to quality standards and enforce all company policies, including those related to safety, housekeeping, environmental practices, financial procedures, reporting, and discipline.
Skills/Experience: Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least 6 months of MIG welding experience.
Additional Requirements:
  • Attendance is crucial, with no prior obligations that would necessitate absence during the first 60 days of employment, especially the first 2 weeks.
  • Mandatory scheduled overtime, with absence counting against attendance if unable to report.
  • Hyster-Yale operates as a tobacco-free campus, extending to candidates'vehicles.
  • Steel-toed or composite-toed shoes are mandatory starting on Day 1;candidates without these will be asked to leave.
  • Conversion to full-time status will require relocation to the second shift.
