Schneider Electric is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer responsible for delivering automation & technology improvements to our manufacturing processes across the North American Region. In this role, using advanced technology, you will be responsible for identifying and driving improvements & capacity of existing assembly and testing equipment or processes.This is an exciting role that will offer much opportunity to grow and learn in a highly technical field. This individual will be tasked with multiple assignments regarding processes spread across the region.What do you get to do in this position?· Create assembly line architecture and specifications· Create automated equipment/machine specifications· Work with external suppliers to design and deploy assembly lines, including automated equipment· Interpret mechanical design drawings for electrical controls requirements (Creo)· Develop PLC and HMI programs for automated equipment· Integrate machines and assembly lines into MIS and plants’ digital manufacturing execution systems· Plan and provide detailed training on equipment design, maintenance and troubleshooting to various customer skill· Support of existing equipment designs, and production issues will be required both locally and at various sites globally· Maintain up to date knowledge of equipment technologies and utilizes this knowledge to specify and develop innovative solutions· Utilize continuous improvement methodology to improve internal industrial processesQualificationsThis job might be for you if:· Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university is required· 5+ years’ experience in assembly line design and deployment, automation industry or high-volume manufacturing environment is preferred.· PLC programming (SE offers) including configuring and designing HMI systems is required· Familiar with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)· Familiar with Motion & Robotic Systems (FANUC, ABB)· Knowledge of communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, CAN, Profibus, etc.)· Experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems· Basic understanding of UL61010-1 Standard, NFPA 79, National Electric Code· Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)· Proven ability to work independently in a multicultural virtual environment across various functions (design engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, finance, mfg operations and others)· Proven ability to influence and convince through negotiation· Motivated self-starter, who can work in parallel on multiple projects· Facilitator to drive problem solving and troubleshooting activities· English intermediate - advanced.
