Job OverviewA Utilities Buyer is a key professional that is able to define the long term strategy for utilities such as water, gas, and electricity for Latin America. Main responsibilities are negotiate contracts with utility suppliers, maintain relationships with these suppliers, and monitor usage to ensure the organization is getting the best possible rates. Additionally, there is a special focus in sustainability initiatives as seeking out renewable energy sources and implementing energy-saving strategies. This role is vital in managing costs and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization's utilities.Regarding CAPEX, the position is responsible for managing the effective and efficient purchasing of components, services, and capital equipment for the sites in Latin America.2. Job Dimensions
  • Travel is estimated between 20-30%, primarily to locations listed in Latin America.
  • Identify and implement synergies in the 05 countries, considering AFLA and other business groups (ASC & ARP).
  • Recommend the supplier based on Technical and commercial point.
  • Meet identified cost savings which is a significant contribute to zone.

  • Data collection and data management;
  • Knowledge of Utilities (electricity, gas, water), Free Market of Electricity, Renewable electricity, Utilities efficiency;
  • Knowledge of new Equipment & Machine acquisition, as well as updates (retrofit);
  • Set up and renew cost model (clean sheet) for cost analysis;
  • Support local teams from procurement perspective, i.e. Capex approval process & business case construction, contracts, commercial terms, service quality assurance/SLA, low cost x efficiency, etc;
  • Support supplier relationships and maintain supplier database;
  • Support projects follow up and implementation.
Relationship management
  • Work with the functional Teams to ensure capture of synergies for AFLA;
  • Work in partnership with the regional team to ensure that Global and AFLA strategies are aligned, mainly on Capex global frame agreements;
  • Build key relationships with key steakholders across the AFLA functional teams, as well as the ARP & ASC teams, to leverage regional scale.

6. Qualifications/Requirements6.1 Formal Qualifications, Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineer or related is required.
  • Procurement or Operations background preferred.
  • Data analysis and calculation experience preferred.
  • Experience Microsoft Office (excel mainly) and an aptitude to apply learnings to new software opportunities.
