- Ability to communicate key delivery and transition risks effectively to IT and business stakeholders
- Manage and lead; directly managed and 'virtual' (outsourced) team members.
- Line management of Business Analysts, Senior Business Managers and Project/Program Managers.
- Deep understanding of Technology in a retail environment
- Capability to manage senior stakeholder communications during releases and in significant outage service level impact situations to enable key recovery decisions to be made with all the required information
- Ability to lead and manage a large functional area comprising multi-disciplined teams.
- In depth expertise in managing teams in a dynamic project environment and with a mix of permanent, contractor, outsourced and offshore teams with different commercial arrangements.
- Managing Commercial outcomes including with third party suppliers.
- Ability to facilitate the resolution of difficult technical issues leveraging a range different support arrangements, teams, and personnel to achieve the outcome and minimise service level impacts
- Provide leadership and guidance to the wider IT community in relation to application technology for assigned business areas
- Drive successful IT/business outcomes in a cost-effective and timely manner
- Develop strong networks and relationships with industry contacts to understand and assess leading practice and successful implementation approaches
- Experience managing relationships with senior management teams.
- Previous experience managing department and project budgets and negotiating with third party suppliers.
- Experience in IT strategy and architecture delivery and ensuring alignment with company strategic objectives
- Previous experience managing diverse teams in a dynamic development environment
- Proven expertise in delivery of large-scale, complex mission-critical IT systems.
- Experience in project management and business change methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Proven customer relationship management skills.
