Every day, our teams solve complex problems, the solutions help thousands of our fellow team members succeed and makes millions of customers' lives easier.About the roleAs the Delivery Manager for the MDM (Master Data Management) platform within our Commercial Technology division, you manage the portfolio of the master data management including application development projects from inception through to service transition and operations.You will manage demand and oversee development (design, build, test, transition) of all projects and solutions and facilitate the collation of development costs, resource planning and development timescales for new initiatives.As part of this role, you will also contribute to and deliver the IT strategy and roadmap for merchandise. You will be required to provide portfolio level management and governance including oversight and reporting of project progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and progress against allocated budget. You will also pro-actively reduce the CODB through successful delivery of projects and optimise the IT resource model.Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Ability to communicate key delivery and transition risks effectively to IT and business stakeholders
  • Manage and lead; directly managed and 'virtual' (outsourced) team members.
  • Line management of Business Analysts, Senior Business Managers and Project/Program Managers.
  • Deep understanding of Technology in a retail environment
  • Capability to manage senior stakeholder communications during releases and in significant outage service level impact situations to enable key recovery decisions to be made with all the required information
  • Ability to lead and manage a large functional area comprising multi-disciplined teams.
  • In depth expertise in managing teams in a dynamic project environment and with a mix of permanent, contractor, outsourced and offshore teams with different commercial arrangements.
  • Managing Commercial outcomes including with third party suppliers.
  • Ability to facilitate the resolution of difficult technical issues leveraging a range different support arrangements, teams, and personnel to achieve the outcome and minimise service level impacts
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the wider IT community in relation to application technology for assigned business areas
  • Drive successful IT/business outcomes in a cost-effective and timely manner
  • Develop strong networks and relationships with industry contacts to understand and assess leading practice and successful implementation approaches
About you & your skillsYou are an experienced and proven people leader with experience managing large and complex projects in an enterprise environment. You have excellent interpersonal & leadership skills alongside analytical & problem-solving skills along with
  • Experience managing relationships with senior management teams.
  • Previous experience managing department and project budgets and negotiating with third party suppliers.
  • Experience in IT strategy and architecture delivery and ensuring alignment with company strategic objectives
  • Previous experience managing diverse teams in a dynamic development environment
  • Proven expertise in delivery of large-scale, complex mission-critical IT systems.
  • Experience in project management and business change methodologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to communicate key delivery and transition risks effectively to IT and business stakeholders
  • Ability to manage senior stakeholder communications during releases and in significant outage / service level impact situations to enable key recovery decisions to be made with all the required information
