- Plan, direct, coordinate and control the operation and financial activities of the hospital dietary department.
- Maintain compliance with all local/state/federal standards, including Joint Commission as they relate to dietetic services.
- Provide supervision/leadership for all aspects of the Dietary Department.
- Maintain appropriate par levels of food and supplies.
- Plan and prepare special function/catering events.
- Interacts with patients and staff in professional manner, promotes teamwork and demonstrates Service Excellence.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

QualificationsDietary Director Job Requirements:
- Minimum high school/GED, with certification as a Food Service Manager.
- Minimum of five (5) years hospital or institutional food service experience w/two (2) years supervisory/leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of principles of institutional food production.
- Leadership, supervisory and administrative skills.
- Knowledge of local/state/federal, including Joint Commission as they relate to dietary services.
- Knowledge of menu/meal planning to include special diet preparations.
- Knowledge of financial/budgetary aspects of food service.
- Ability to work effectively with other employees, patients, vendors, and other outside parties.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service, exceeding expectations of both internal and external customers.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing is required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruption, time management and organizational skills.
- Must be able to complete new hire requirements such as nationwide background check and drug testing.
