- Conducts safety inspections of bridges and other structures, and prepares associated written technical reports and electronic drawings.
- Assists inspections using various advanced testing methods, mechanized access machinery, climbing or diving equipment, and drones or sonar scanning devices.
- Mobilizes to other offices/states as required to staff additional inspection teams.
- Perform additional structural assessment-related duties as assigned or required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Ability to work constructively in a team environment, grow to supervise other’s work, communicate and maintain professional working relationships
- Willing to attend bridge inspection training courses based on the FHWA Bridge Inspector’s Reference Manual (BIRM) and keep current with refresher and continuing education requirements
- Must be open to travel out-of-state or on short notice for emergency work
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification is a plus
- Any NHI bridge inspection coursework is a plus
- Any bridge inspection experience is a plus
