Type of Requisition: RegularClearance Level Must Currently Possess: SecretClearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: SecretSuitability:Public Trust/Other Required:Job Family: Software DevelopmentJob Qualifications:Skills: Agile Methodology, Prototyping, User Experience (UX), User Experience (UX) Research, User Interfaces (UI)Certifications: Security + - CompTIAExperience: 6 + years of related experienceUS Citizenship Required: YesJob Description:User Interface / User Experience (UI/UX) Developer – NAVSUP OISOverview/ Job ResponsibilitiesGDIT is seeking a User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Developer for the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Ordnance Information System (OIS) to provide technical expertise on a mission-critical program whose purpose is to develop, modernize, enhance, operate, and maintain services for OIS mission critical systems.This role will support the Next Gen/Modernization development team, working with a team of Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to support the design, creation, and maintenance of the OIS application and contribute to other key parts of our tooling and infrastructure, with a specific focus on improving the user experience.This position can be performed remotely; however, approximately 10% travel will be required for client meetings 5 times a year in Mechanicsburg, PA or Yorktown, VA.Primary Responsibilities:The UI/UX Developer will be responsible for the following:Conceiving and conducting user research, interviews, and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.Design the overall customer-facing interface of the product and iterate upon it to ensure a great user experienceOptimize application front-end for maximum speed and usabilityFacilitate the customers' and product owners' product visions by researching, conceiving, wire framing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up user experiencesIdentify design problems and devise elegant solutionsMake strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and featuresTake a human-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designsCollaborate with back-end and front-end developers to improve usabilityTake smart risks and champion new ideasCollaborate with a cross-functional team of designers, product managers, and engineers on all phases of the product development life cycleIncorporate best practices for accessibility, usability, web performance, and design into the product and ultimately champion a more consistent and delightful user experienceProvide mentorship to other front-end engineers and designers in all aspects of UX developmentPerform subjective and objective research both qualitatively and quantitatively, to gather deep end-user understandingPerform usability/heuristic evaluations and validations across the product or solution life-cycleMinimum Qualifications:Must have DOD Secret level clearance to start; U.S. Citizen required only for Federal Clearance RequirementCertification Requirements: Directive 8570.1/8140 - IAT II: Security+BA/BS or equivalent experienceMinimum 6 years (or Masters or equivalent experience, plus 4+ years) of experience in UI/UX development and/or product developmentExperience developing with Angular, React, Vaadin, or VueExperience with CSS frameworks, JavaScript, jQueryExperience working in an Agile/Scrum development environmentExperience employing an iterative, user-centric design process in UX design/interactive prototypingExperience taking input from multiple sources and synthesizing it into coherent design ideasExperience defining interaction models, creating userflows, storyboards, wireframes, and prototypesDetail-oriented and a highly motivated self-starter that is able to work closely in a collaborative role with other team membersExcellent communication, collaboration and teaming skills and experiencePreferred Qualifications:Navy experienceSAFe experience and knowledgeDesigning/developing for Mobile ApplicationsKnowledge of SEO principlesUnderstanding of and/or experience designing for 508 ComplianceThe likely salary range for this position is $101,150 - $136,850. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
