Job SummaryWe are looking for a professional Facilities Maintenance/Custodian Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing the performance of daily operations of the GCFBC facilities maintenance/custodian department. In addition to maintaining facilities critical to our daily operation, your responsibilities will include (not limited to) managing maintenance/custodial personnel and planning renovation and repair projects.As the Facilities Maintenance/Custodian Manager, you should have general working knowledge of carpentry, HVAC, Plumbing, electrical, building maintenance, etc. You must be organized and have experience working with and managing a team.Your primary goal is to ensure our facilities are safe, clean and functional for members, visitors and employees.Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the regular maintenance, upkeep, general cleaning, and applicable repair of all GCFBC facilities, equipment, buildings, property, and vehicles.
  • Delegates daily tasks to custodial and maintenance personnel.
  • Manages a team of custodial and maintenance personnel including scheduling, performance reviews, evaluations team building & training.
  • Ensures all delegated tasks are completed for operational effectiveness.
  • Regularly inspects all GCFBC facilities, equipment, buildings, property, and vehicles.
  • Ensures all maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely, cost-effective manner and according to all specifications.
  • Diagnoses building maintenance problems and determines how to correct them.
  • Ensures all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies corrected.
  • Ensures facilities, equipment, property and vehicles are in compliance with all safety and sanitation policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of city and state building codes and all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Knowledge of budgeting costs, negotiating contracts with vendors, and hiring custodial & maintenance personnel.
  • Performs routine building maintenance tasks.
  • Performs general cleaning duties of buildings or properties.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Stewardship Designee(s), Sr. Pastor or Director of Ministry.

Qualifications:
  • Education (Required): High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Education (Preferred): Certificate from college or technical/trade school ; or commensurate education and experience accepted .
  • Experience: 1-2 years custodial & maintenance work experience.
  • Experience: 1-2 years custodial & maintenance supervisory experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Associate Degree or certificate of completion from a trade school preferred; or commensurate education and experience accepted
  • Supervisory or management experience in maintenance, custodial or construction (Preferred)
  • Ability to quickly diagnose the root cause of failures and suggest appropriate solutions
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and in writing with Gethsemane members, staff and internal partners, external vendors, and visitors.
