Job Description:OverviewThe position is responsible for the day to day treasury operations including cash management, financial risk, and special treasury focused ad-hoc projects.
Responsibilities
  • Processing daily bank transactions, updates to the cash book, bank account reconciliations, journal entries and wire transfers.
  • Responsible for financial planning and analysis to forecast budgets and financial status.
  • Researches economic trends and investment opportunities.
  • Determines procurement of funds and monitors investments and collections.
  • Prepare the daily, weekly and monthly cash requirement projections for all bank accounts of the hospital, nursing home and clinics.
  • Oversee daily funds management, verifying and recording all prior day cash activity to the general ledger for all divisions within the company, as well as providing daily cash positions and bank account management.
  • On a monthly basis, reconciles bank accounts and the closing of the cash ledger.
  • In conjunction with other members of the finance staff, this position prepares the daily cash analysis and executes cash transfers to support hospital operations.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, closing of the cash book, reconciliation of all bank accounts and analysis of patient cash.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Prepare and update liabilities, outstanding balance schedules and projected payments.
  • Support the Treasurer with special projects and analyses.
  • Performs other job duties assigned.
QualificationsEducation:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
Experience:
  • Minimum two (2) years of treasury experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Advanced software skills, including financial systems such as Lawson general ledger and bank balance reporting software.
  • Detail-oriented with high level of attention to financial accuracy.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability to fully utilize BHMC’s electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
Physical Requirements:
  • Position requires prolonged periods of sitting and use of a computer and screen viewing throughout the working day.
  • Position will be required to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
