This person will build teams, develop CI plans and drive continuous improvement to include operations, maintenance, warehouse, materials planning and scheduling, and quality assurance. The goal of this person is to lead continuous improvement in all aspects of the facility by utilizing the tools, methodology, and processes of continuous improvement.WAGE TYPE: Salaried ExemptFLSA Exemption: Administrative ExemptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Oversee all aspects of continuous improvement for the plant organization.
  • Develops annual plans for the CI in the facility including IGNITE and MDI.
  • Develops and implements training plans for the plant to promote growth and improvements to the CI process.
  • Coach people in lean methodology and continuous improvement mindset utilizing kaizen, lean training and exercises/demonstrations.
  • Responsible for the identification, development and implementation of process improvements and best practices focused on improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity (Labor and Material).
  • Supports development of capital plans and plant budgeting as needed to support CI
  • Facilitate financial justification for new projects.
  • Lead and influence others through actions and expectations to meet improvement objectives.
  • Leads regularly scheduled CI meetings with plant leadership to review and track progress
  • Lead improvement events directed toward productivity improvements and waste reduction.
  • Use continuous improvement techniques to capitalize on safety, quality, delivery and productivity opportunities.
  • Ensures follow-up on improvement events are completed and realized gains are maintained. This includes scheduling and facilitating on-going status reviews with all vested parties.
  • Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
  • Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
  • Reports to: Director of Operations
  • Supervises: Continuous Improvement Engineers/Technicians/Process Specialists
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.Education and/or Experience:Expected:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing or process environment using continuous improvement techniques/tools (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, JIT, etc.)
  • Must have green belt or be actively enrolled in green belt certification training class
  • Strong computer skills
  • Must have skills in development and implementation of CI training
  • Ability to build teams, lead cross functional groups, and drive performance.
  • Strong communication skills - shop floor through management

Preferred:
  • Experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Black belt or be actively enrolled in black belt certification training class
