The Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management, University of Copenhagen, invites applications for a position as assistant professor in landscape architecture and urban design. The position is for 3 years and placed within the research group: 'Landscape Technology' at the Section for Landscape Architecture and Planning.The position is in the field of landscape architecture, planning and design with a special focus on landscape technologies and naturebased solutions related to climate adaptation of cities. Basic research experiences and key competences are expected within blue-green infrastructure systems for stormwater management, drought resilience and urban heat island mitigation, with respect to both scientific background and design skills. Acknowledging the rapid development within nature-based solutions the candidate is expected to be able to develop innovative conceptual designs, generate proof of concept, and enter into transition arenas with stakeholders from outside university for co-creation, real context implementation and long-term documentation. Experience from greenhouse experiments and/or field experiments with vegetation, evapotranspiration and plant traits is considered an advantage for upcoming research fields.The assistant professor's duties will primarily include research, including obligations with regard to publication/scientific communication and research-based teaching with associated examination obligations within landscape architecture, landscape technologies and nature based solutions. To a limited extent this may also include performance of other duties.Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, internationally competitive research. The ability to attract external funding will be considered together with outreach qualifications. Teaching qualifications are not mandatory but documented teaching qualifications and teaching experience will be considered.Six overall criteria apply for assistant professor appointments at the University of Copenhagen.
