Job Description:OverviewThe Material Handler I is responsible for an array of functions that include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
Responsibilities
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to Warehouse Management standards
  • Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing requests, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer. Assist with counting of physical inventory as needed
  • Assist shipping and receiving with unloading trucks and checking in merchandise
  • Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pull material, pack boxes and place orders in the delivery area
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat. Sweep, dust, and mop when needed. Organize the warehouse and work area to maintain orderliness
  • Ensure proper documentation to maintain inventory and warehouse integrity
  • Ensure procedures are followed and executed correctly
  • Recognize problems or quality concerns and escalate understanding the impact to product quality or process flow
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with team members to ensure production flows smoothly
  • Maintain an organized work area (5s system)
  • Maintain compliance with all appropriate regulatory requirements, including HIPAA
  • Adheres to attendance and punctuality guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned
QualificationsEducation & ExperienceRequired:
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
Preferred:
  • Previous experience in medical device industry
Knowledge & Skills
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds from floor to table
  • Ability to stand for 2-3 hour blocks
  • Preferred Ability to safely operate a forklift or able to successfully pass forklift training within 30 days of hire
  • Comfortable working on computers, especially Microsoft Outlook. Navigating ERP and QMS systems
