DescriptionThe Art Therapist is responsible for creating a safe and creative classroom environment for adolescents struggling with substance misuse and/or co-occurring mental health disorders at The Grove, IMPOWER's Level II Residential Treatment Program. The Art Therapist may also assist with coverage of individual and/or family sessions as needed with documenting assessments, evaluations, and client progress, maintaining accurate case file administration consistent with the Department of Children and Families FAC 65D-30, The Agency for Health Care Administration, and BHOS standards.The starting pay for this position is $26.44 per hour with credit given for relative education and experience above what is required for the position. This position is part time non-exempt limited to 20-25 hours per week.Job Duties
  • Conducts group art therapy sessions to enhance and/or improve competence in skill development, rational thought and creativity in accordance with weekly schedules and programming up to 10 hours per week.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and concepts of art therapy; develops weekly curriculum and activities in conjunction with Clinical Director
  • Applies a variety of mediums including but not limited to drawing, painting, watercolor, collage, sculpture, photography, jewelry making, etc. to foster well-being, practice mindfulness skills, and implement creative expression
  • Interpret artistic creations of clients to assess functioning, needs and/or progress; confer with other treatment team members to develop, coordinate or integrate treatment plans
  • Adhere to credentialing requirements as outlined by IMPOWER, funder requirements and the Council on Accreditation to include submitting documentation within required timelines.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings as scheduled, one monthly individual supervision, attend all staff meetings and other program meetings as required
  • As possible, may assist with therapist coverage to provide individual and/or family counseling, new admission paperwork (ASAM, SA assessments, biopsychosocial (BPS) assessments) and required documentation.
  • Complete documentation in DAP format; model fidelity for EBP documented within 24 hours
  • Complete safety plans as needed and developed based on risk factors that you have assessed
  • Follow state mandated abuse & neglect reporting procedures and IMPOWER Policies & Procedures regarding abuse/neglect of children, disabled individuals, or elderly individuals.
  • Complete timesheets daily in Paylocity
  • Interact with clients, families/guardians, outside parties and all employees in a professional and courteous manner
  • Maintains strong professional boundaries with clients and families/guardians
  • Abides by the ethics, policies and procedures, and professional standards of IMPOWER, Inc.
  • Completes required essential learning trainings within designated time frames
  • Completes all other tasks and duties as assigned or as needed to help drive The Grove and IMPOWER's vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization's values.
RequirementsQualifications, Education, Experience:
  • Master's Degree in social work, mental health counseling, art therapy or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensure in the State of Florida as a LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist or School Psychologist a plus
  • One year of clinical experience in the provision of mental health or chemical dependency counseling services
  • An ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and effectively communicate and interact with clients, families and staff
  • Successful background screenings through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, State and County
  • Valid drivers license and auto insurance, and successful motor vehicle driving record background check
  • Negative result from a multi panel drug screen
