Job Description:OverviewOceanview is currently seeking an experienced Investment Accounting Professional for the role of Manager or Assistant Vice President, depending on experience. This position will report to the Oceanview group controller and be responsible for monthly investment accounting for entities within the Oceanview group. These duties include (but are not limited to) the preparation of monthly general ledger account reconciliations and analysis for derivatives, securities and alternative assets. The position will interact and liaise with third-party investment accounting service provider, and Bayview, Oceanview’s parent company and Investment Manager, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of Oceanview’s ~$12B investment portfolio. This is a hybrid role (3 days in office) based out of Oceanview’s Denver headquarters.Responsibilities
  • Record monthly investment activity for securities and alternative assets in general ledger
  • Reconcile custody cash accounts and record activity in general ledger
  • Reconcile security positions and monthly pricing between investment accounting system and Bayview’s reporting; liaising with third-party service provider and Bayview to resolve differences
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for securitized debt transactions
  • Monitor and track underlying general partner reporting, capital calls and distributions related to alternative asset investments
  • Ensure capital calls for alternative asset investments are funded in a timely manner and prepare drawdown request for investments that are held through Collateralized Fund Obligation (CFO) structures
  • Load, reconcile and review alternative asset investment activity into investment accounting system
  • Calculate and record asset management fees
  • Review NAV package of Luxembourg investment entity and record investment activity in general ledger
  • Review monthly payment reports provided by loan/reporting agent for CFO structures
  • Prepare monthly summary of income by security type
  • Prepare monthly PnL analysis of all investment accounts and investigate unusual trends/differences
  • Provide support as necessary to both external and internal auditors enabling the successful completion of internal reviews and controls - conducted quarterly and annually
  • Keep management informed of any concerns for meeting set goals, clarifying duties, and training development needs that result in greater performance and personal growth
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of accounting for investments in securities (including structured products), loans and derivatives
  • Dedicated team player with strong work ethic; quick learner, energetic and engaging
  • Comfortable with working with large sets of data; experience analyzing and reconciling financial data is a plus
  • Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of reports, correspondence, and databases
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to an ever-changing environment
  • Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Self-starter possessing a high degree of personal and professional leadership
  • Experience with Clearwater Analytics and/or Oracle general ledger is a plus
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-10 years of experience in public accounting and/or private experience working in Asset Management or related industry is preferred
Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
  • CPA preferred
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $85,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually. Salary is determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity.Discretionary annual bonuses, when paid, are based principally on the evaluations of job performance by those to whom you report.
