The daily substitute rate is $130 per full day and $78 per half day.Assignment/Location:
We are recruiting for a substitute Teacher to support our program at the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center. This position will be full-time, for at least two weeks during the 23-24 School Year.A complete application will include: * Work history going back 10 years (if applicable)

Essential Functions/Other FunctionsEssential Functions: * Design lesson plans using researched based teaching strategies and alternative education best practices that meet Washington state essential academic learning requirements and meet student's individualized goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate skill-building in the areas of personal and social development including: goal setting, conflict resolution, anger management, decision making, communication and team building in conjunction with other staff.
  • Design, implement, and continuously adjust instructional strategies to meet student individualized goals and objectives.
  • Communicate with school personnel and gather information regarding educational needs.
  • Design assessment strategies and collect continuous performance data to assess progress on student goals and objectives.
  • Create and maintain a classroom environment and behavior management plan that facilitates learning and promotes positive student behaviors.
  • Design and implement work-based projects that enhance educational and personal development goals and provides a service to the community.
  • Work cooperatively and communicate with program staff, community resource team and parents.
  • Gather data and prepare required reports and records.
  • Establish and interpret student performance results on general equivalency test exams.
Other Functions: * Other duties as assigned.Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications: * Hold or be eligible to hold a valid Washington teacher certificate or a valid Washington substitute teacher certificate.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills: * Master's degree in education.
  • Meet Highly Qualified standards or hold endorsements in core academic subjects for English/language arts, math, civics/government and reading.
  • Experience working working with at-risk students in small group, classroom and one-on-one in mental health, juvenile justice or alternative education field.
  • Experience teaching students with challenging behaviors and experience with case management of delinquent or pre-delinquent students.
  • Experience with computer-based instruction.
  • Experience with alcohol and other drug programs for students.
Working Conditions/Employment RequirementsWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements: * Classroom setting/office environment serving the School Programs Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.
