DescriptionRegistered Nurse / Nurse PreceptorShift: Full Time 8a-8:30pLocation: Emory Ortho & Spine Hospital, 1455 Montreal Rd NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30084Emory Orthopedic and Spine Hospital PAT / Pre-Op / PACU utilizes 16 bays with 17-23 cases per day. All cases are ortho and/or neuro spine.This position is full time, 8a-8:30p,Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital is seeking a capable Registered Nurse / Nurse Preceptor / Post Anesthesia Care Unit who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population.
  • Develops or revises policies and procedures for a patient population incorporating latest evidence-based research findings.
  • Demonstrates competency in teaching and precepting skills. Tailors orientee's goals according to skill level and educational /clinical background. Coordinates successful achievement of established goals.
  • Utilizes orientation and preceptor manual by assigning individual educational sections for self-study and bedside during scheduled clinical. Monitors and facilitates completion of orientee paperwork to provide up to date information on orientees progress and development.
  • Notifies Clinical Educator of any delays or problems related to achieving an orientee's goals as soon as identified to ensure immediate intervention for optimal success. Completes orientees evaluation form on completion of orientation.
  • Functions as Charge Nurse when assigned. Actively assists the CNS/Clinical Educator with staff educational in-services as well as skills fair and patient/family education.
  • Completes renewal of preceptor credentialing.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • One year experience as an RN with one year of experience in the area of concentration.
  • Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • BLS certification required and ACLS may be required in designated departments.
