We have two vacancies across the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy professions. One can be recruited to as full time with the other being 28 hours. These Community roles include assessment and intervention general to the positions but we also really keen to recruit one or two practitioners who have expertise/interest in Wheeled Mobility. If this sounds like you, please be in touch!Our Community Occupational Therapists work with older adults, people with neuro-degenerative and long-term conditions, and those with palliative needs etc.You would generally complete assessments in people - s homes and offer interventions which may be restorative or compensatory. Provision of appropriate equipment and prescription of both complex and non-complex housing modification will be part of the role along with Wheel chair and seating interventions.Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our teamTe Herenga Tangata is our Community Older Adults, Rehabilitation and Allied Health team including staff across a range of Allied Health disciplines, together with Nursing and Medical colleagues.As we are a large Interdisciplinary team you will have access to Occupational Therapy colleagues, Social Workers, Nurses, Speech Language therapy, Dietitians, along with our medical and Community Nursing colleagues. Our service delivery models are evolving and will see us using inter-professional practice approaches and delegating more work to our skilled Allied Health and Rehab Assistants.We are continuing to build relationships with Primary Health and a broad range of Government and Community providers which is already making it easier for our staff to provide timelier, effective and equity focused health services.Te Herenga Tangata has recently become part of a single Community Older Adults, Rehabilitation and Allied Health group together with our Capital Coast colleagues increasing professional and career development opportunities for our staff.
