- Reproduces government and other historical records on a variety of scanning equipment to create digital assets in a variety of formats following in-house archival and preservation standards and ensures assets are properly described, labeled and stored within the agency's digital storage system.
- Accessions and maintains intellectual control of permanent preservation microfilm following in-house guidelines and procedures, including de-accessioning and disposing of non-permanent microfilm and the creation of finding aids and guides to provide accessibility to specific microfilm rolls or series.
- Advises and provides assistance regarding historical or genealogical research to onsite researchers.
- Assists the Electronic Records Archivist with the development and operation of a born digital preservation program to include preparing and cataloging electronic records for ingest in to digital repository.
- Knowledge of the principals and techniques of archival theory, practice and research.
- Knowledge of South Carolina history and government organization.
- General knowledge of digital records issues.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and efficient manner, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with the public, staff, and other professionals.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook and Access software.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height required.
