This is a full-time, benefited, non-exempt, 12-month pay plan permanent position with a one-year probationary period in the Library. Additional benefits information can be found at .Position Summary:Reporting to the Institutional Compliance Manager, The Institutional Compliance Coordinator plays a central role in assisting the campus to ensure the responsible and ethical conduct of research including animal and human subjects research across campus. They serve as the central intake for all protocol submissions to coordinate timely reviews by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as the first point of contact for Institutional Compliance submissions on campus (including but not limited to IACUC and IRB)
- Applies knowledge of university policies and procedures. Interacts and networks with staff from other IACUCs and IRBs across CSU system.
- Track campus protocols, amendments, annual reviews, and reporting as required;
- Maintain documentation and consistent tracking of Responsible & Ethical Conduct in Research (RECR) requirements for students, staff, and faculty.
- Serves as liaison and represents the Institutional Compliance team in responding to inquiries from external stakeholders
- Provides information, guidance, interpretation, or clarification within scope of authority.
- Assist with the maintenance and updates to internal systems and public websites, listservs, and Institutional Compliance platforms (including but not limited to InfoReady, Engagement Hub, Trello) and other methods of communication with stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation of CITI training compliance; Responsible for Health Assurance Form database entries and maintenance.
- Provide administrative support for Institutional Compliance including timely preparation and distribution of review board agendas, minutes, decisions, and related materials.
- Provides support to the Research Integrity Officer (RIO) during any research misconduct investigations.

- Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Thorough, detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to use negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve results and expedite projects.
- Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels and handle highly sensitive interpersonal situations.
- Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions.
- Ability draft and compose correspondence, to effectively write and present own reports, and create and maintain the appropriate supporting documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to foster, establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with diverse constituencies.
- Commitment to promote and support diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
- Expertise in using office software packages, technology, and systems.
- Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to research compliance or public administration.
- Demonstrated ability to make oral presentations to individuals or groups to enhance understanding of applicable policies or procedures.
