- Individual and Group Therapy: Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to address a variety of emotional, relational, and mental health concerns.
- Couples and Family Counseling: Provide therapy to couples and families, helping them navigate communication challenges, relationship dynamics, and family issues.
- Assessment and Diagnosis: Assess clients' emotional and psychological needs, make clinical diagnoses when necessary, and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Holistic Wellness Integration: Collaborate with other spa and wellness professionals to incorporate a holistic approach to mental and emotional well-being, combining therapy with relaxation and stress reduction techniques.
- Mind-Body Techniques: Incorporate mind-body techniques such as meditation, mindfulness, and yoga to help clients achieve emotional balance and improve their overall well-being.
- Education and Workshops: Offer workshops and educational sessions on topics related to mental health, relationships, and communication to support clients in their wellness journey.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential client records, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and support for clients in distress and coordinate referrals to appropriate resources when necessary.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest therapeutic techniques, research, and best practices in marriage and family therapy.
- Client Engagement: Foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring clients feel comfortable and supported throughout their therapeutic journey.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotels Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
- Comply with Highgate Hotels Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
- Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
- Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
- Current and valid state licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- CPR and first aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in providing therapy in a spa or wellness setting is a plus.
- Knowledge of holistic wellness practices is desirable.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to therapy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
- Flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
